When relocating to Hilton from Zimbabwe in 2003, Gateside Guesthouse took our breath away with its stunning views & Victorian charm, typical of the area.It’s easy to believe that one has stepped out of Africa in this lush, misty countryside…Gateside is definitely a “character” home, being part of the original “Kings Gap” farm, since subdivided & now with the main Victorian farmhouse next door which dates back to the 1800’s.It became our home & 11 years’ later, the view still attracts as much as ever: constantly changing with the seasons & different weather patterns (which, in Hilton, is often! )The story goes that Gateside is the oldest Bed & Breakfast still in existence in Hilton.It has a central location but is tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac.
